Silver Lining
James & Oneg's Summer Writing Challenge Extravaganza - #5: You’ve Got Mail
Silver Lining
Every cloud has a silver lining.
In the moonlight,
tears still flow—
some might linger.
(Maybe hating is better.)
Your smile
delaying its course
across the Milky Way.
(Maybe comfort is better.)
Your voice
in thousand pieces
along the mountain path.
(Maybe listening is better.)
Still here,
the slow release
of pain.
(Maybe clinging is better.)
At dawn,
among new shadows
your old letters.
(Maybe it was all for a reason.)
Remember:
The silver lining lies
in your heart,
always.

I wrote this poem in response to James & Oneg's Summer Writing Challenge Extravaganza. I was tagged to participate in the fifth challenge of the series.
Theme: "You’ve Got Mail! Challenge: start a story/poem with the last line of an email or letter you recently received."
The line that starts my poem comes from a friend's email I received a little while ago.
Check out all the prompts and rules below.

Beautiful
Love the gentle rhythm of introspection and slow release of pain over time (at least that's how I understood it), beautiful x

Cendrine, I am always such a clunk in not understanding most poetry, but this is so beautiful, I understood it immediately and love it! Of course, if Jazzy and Babs liked it, I knew I would, too!!!
