Silence, has fallen

Upon the broken earth...

Silence, has fallen.

Upon the broken earth as it turns slowly.

Turning slowly as we lay in the grass,

Just two in the world of many,

Ill-significant to a greater purpose, a greater being, a greater task.

The sky blue, a sky never to be touched.

A broken earth slowly turning.

Forever in the dark…

A world slow, but moving,

Time will pass by,

Yet, forever leaving a mark.

We are all cold and numb,

So numb, but we feel the pain,

Feel it to the rhythm of our hearts,

Feel it as a cane, a cane against us.

The sound of our hearts: bump-bump… Bump-bump

Our heart does beat though, and this means we are alive.

We feel pain – then good at least we can feel at all.

Time flies, so we must grab it and strive to make the most of it.

We are significant because we exist, so we must never quit,

We are two in a world of many,

It’s not just us, we are not alone,

Stop laying there, stand, stand up –

Upon this broken earth that can be fixed –

Silence, has fallen…

Silence will not remain…
