Shakespearean Tragedy

But in a poem version

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,

A tale of love and woe I'll share with thee,

A story of two lovers, young and keen,

Whose fate was sealed by ancient enmity.

Romeo, the son of Montague,

And Juliet, daughter of Capulet,

Their love was pure, their passion true,

But their families' feud they could not forget.

They met in secret, under moonlit skies,

And swore their love would never die,

But fate had other plans in guise,

And tragedy was nigh.

As Romeo was banished, the lovers' hearts did ache,

Their love forbidden, their future bleak,

But Juliet had a plan to make,

And turned to a potion that would make her seem to sleep.

The plan was simple, so she thought,

She would be laid in the Capulet tomb,

And Romeo would come, as he was taught,

To take her away and start anew.

But fate had other plans in store,

As Romeo heard only of her death,

He came to the tomb, his heart so sore,

And took his own last breath.

Juliet awoke to find her love had died,

Her heart broken, her soul cried,

And in her despair, she too took her life,

Ending their love and ending their strife.

But wait, what is this, a twist in the tale,

For the families' feud had now gone stale,

And as they saw their children's fate,

They vowed to end their ancient hate.

So though Romeo and Juliet's love did die,

Their sacrifice did open their families' eyes,

And in the end, their love did bring,

Peace to Verona, and an end to everything.
