Settle into the Destiny Divine

Trust in the process

Regret is a wasted emotion, this he learned early on in life,

Because he relished the day of the moment, putting yesteryear to bed,

What will be, will be, he’s well aware and trusting of the process,

Knowing he’ll welcome that which is destined to be his instead.

💕💕

Don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t have total control of his emotions,

No, he flounders the mishaps and crushed memories as we all do,

Don’t listen when he tells you his heart is made of icy stone,

His macho bullshit is hard wired, but believe me when I say it’s crap too.

💕💕

His heart has been broken, he has tried to harden it in an attempt to protect himself,

But there’ll be those softly spoken beings that’ll work their way inside,

They’ll shore up the cracks and heal the bloodstained wounds,

Leaving him feeling more secure and without the necessity to hide.

💕💕

I understand his torment because I can relate to the pain of losing love,

My heart bleeds in tune to his sordid screams of aching torture,

As I loved this soul whose darkness is an act, a beacon to block out his light,

And know his bark is worse than his bite, although his temper is a scorcher.

💕💕

Walk gently where angels fear to tread, because it’s here you’ll discover a gold mine,

That pot of gold hiding at the end of the rainbow is buried in his darkest chamber of his heart,

Search carefully and you shall find, that which is more precious than gold,

Especially if you bury yourself within his love, that light will shine on you sweetheart.

💕💕

Stand before him in truth and honesty, lean on his welcoming respect,

Allow him to wrap you gently in his loving arms, cocooned in his safety,

Wallow in his dreams, swim the depths of his emotions, revel in his glory,

And experience love like you’ve only ever dreamed, just please don’t be hasty.

💕💕

I promise you a love above and beyond your wildest dreams, a never ending ecstasy,

If you solder the brokenness closed, repairing the language of love as it flows,

Surrendering to his honour — past, present and future — languishing in happiness,

Shutting out the sordid world, while dipping your fingers into the love you’ll both enclose.

💕💕

Swallow your pride and ask for his forgiveness, you’ll be surprised by his ease,

The years of wasted vengeance will disintegrate, no longer important to you both,

The regret of yesteryear vanished, buried in the depth of forgetfulness,

If you’ll take hold of his extended hand and let him honour you in his loving oath.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

This poem was just so scary to me my friend, lol. I shudder at the thought of love. However, this was so beautifully written!

  • Where this is true & embraced by both, what wonders of love they might know.

I loved the edginess and darkness of this piece! The rhyming structure is also well done. 😊
