it’s the frightening scenes that replay in my head....

his eyes rolling back...

his body rigid in unnatural contortion...

sounds emitting from his mouth half words, jerky sounds of grits and grunts...

his head violently twitching towards me - almost in a cry for help that he doesn’t know he’s making...

the blood mixed with saliva running down his cheek.... not breathing...

just a giant of strength and no control...

His sounds mixed with the gutteral panic sounds coming from my own mouth.... begging God... pleading with God....

no no no no no over and over,

Father God please....

Father God please....

trying with every ounce of my strength to keep him on his side so he doesn’t choke...

finally the release of his lungs and other-worldly spitting exhale as his body allows him to breathe.

it would be two more hours before he would be mildly aware again....

kneeling by his bed, my heart wrenched and sobs escape my throat ... fear and worry..

mixed later with thankfulness that we were here to help save his life...

again.

Dear Diana - May I nag? Please tell more of these tales; from your eyes with your 'Staccato' style. With several years in service I've seen people do the type of work that you have done; you are a special person and bless you for it. Jay
