Have you ever walked into a room,
To see a cat staring at something you cannot see,
They say cats can see ghosts,
That are invisible to you and me.
***
Do you ever wonder,
If this is just a special ability of a cat,
Or is it possible other animals or even humans,
Have a given talent like that?
***
How about young children,
Can they see things we cannot,
Ghosts, fairies, elves and such,
Things we adults have now forgot?
***
I believe, like cats, we are born to see,
To see through or behind the veil,
That thin membrane between our reality and the ether,
Where the special beings leave a well worn trail.
***
Watch your young child,
As she sits and stares into space,
I bet she’s watching a magic show,
Or a pretty fairy in all her airs and grace.
***
She watches the little beings,
Shoot magic stars through the air from her wand,
Dancing and prancing,
Encouraging your child to join in and belong.
***
The concentration on your daughter’s face,
Surely convinces you that she can see the magic,
That glorious smile that grazes her little face,
Tells you she is watching beauty, not something tragic.
***
A small child doesn’t question if what she sees is true,
She accepts the delights she’s shown as normal,
Does she care if it goes against the universal laws,
No of course not, she’s yet to get so formal.
***
It’s when you get to the age of disbelief,
That she’ll question and doubt the magic that she can see,
And then she’ll loose the precious ability,
As she will no longer believe.
***
Encourage her now to accept,
That adults don’t necessarily have all the answers,
Just because we can no longer see behind the veil,
Doesn’t mean there are no more elves and fairy dancers.
