a paradigm shift
an undeniable
tragic
alteration
an identity theft
drawn out over time
until warped is normal
and normal is warped
is there a me to get back to
that doesn't remember
that first touch?

That first touch--does it introduce a pathogen yielding only decay, leaving you more weakly & lost, or will it serve to make you stronger? And either way, will you ever be able to trust another's touch, to lean on & rely upon them, or will it force you into isolation? Only time & heart will tell.
