I spent every ounce of my resiliency on surviving you,
you and your screams of disapproval, your insistence that you knew best even when you were completely and proveably wrong
you and your distrust, your inability to see the truth because you saw a reflection of yourself instead of seeing me
you and the way you take and take and take well past when there is anything left to give,
so when nothing is left, you can spit your venom in disgust.
I had to rebuild everything,
find my peace, and stretch my limitations out again from scratch.
It turns out old wounds don't make new pain any easier.

Though it does mean you've likely built up a little more resiliency & aren't quite so blindsided by it. Though beware, it may also lead to you becoming jaded such that you become so guarded you miss it when true love actually does come knocking at your door. Finding yourself in another is a wonderful thing. Only seeing reflected what you already know & believe of yourself is quite another.
Your poem was so relatable and it made me so emotional. Your last line especially hit me so hard!
This is a beautiful ode to resilience! Each stanza is like a battle cry, making us to embrace our scars and find beauty in our brokenness.
