A schism of sensation
Fractures from within
Far beyond standard deviation
Making colors akin
To a myriad of scents.
Red, it smells of almond incense
Orange is chemical, synthetic
Yellow evokes Autumn’s breathe
Green of cedar, aromatic
In its release.
Blue, it smells of silken sheets
Violet strong like cloves
Black’s akin to decaying meats
White like lilac groves
swaying in the wind.
No way to rescind
the sensational culmination
that sweeps in like a whirlwind
and defies rationalization
of a synesthetic's mind.

OOOOH! That was an engrossing read!
great take on the challenge
Beautifully crafted and killer word choices
Gosh this was so beautiful! Brilliant use of imageries, very vivid!
Wow! I loved the connection of colors and scents--clever and creative!
This was beautiful! I really loved the ride through the colors :)
Nice take on the challenge here is mine https://vocal.media/poets/game-wits
Well done.
It's a great idea that I've been toying with too, Kelly. Well done! My big concern is not getting tangled up too much in how Alfred Bester did the synesthesia 'thing' in "The Stars My Destination". You dodged that problem beautifully!
That was a bit of a rollercoaster 😁
I love this! So fascinating…. Such vivid descriptions too (decaying meats, eek!)! ❤️❤️❤️.
