Postcards...promises unfulfilled
Poem for Poppy's February Prompt Thingo

postcards of promises
unfulfilled and plans
unfollowed
backburner of visits
delayed and trips
postponed
lifetime of catch-ups
uncaught and expectations
unmet
sirens of life
unlived and dreams
unrealised
grave of regrets
final place of rest
and unrest

Thanks for reading!
Author's Notes: Poppy's words obviously tapped into a lot of sadness, given my entries into her prompt thingo. This one is that old nutshell of unfulfilled promoses and unrealised dreams.
Also...the irony is not lost that I held this back last night because I didn't want to shove everything out and then missed the deadline, bahaha.

Such a relatable feeling put into words perfectly. I adore the ending. Also, love your ai artwork! And the irony is quite amusing :)
A delightful 'Un' poem... excellent as always! Impressive picture too.
So sorry you missed the deadline Sir Paul 🥺 Also, of you tweak the last line a little, you can enter this into the Inverse challenge! 🍩🥐
Graves of regret. I can see there would be no rest there. Well done.
Well done again, sir! A bit morose, perhaps, but rightfully so.
“Backburner of visits delayed” was such a clever and apt descriptor! Great work!
Yep, that about sums it up.
Well done friend.
It's too bad that regret is never quite as beautiful as this poem! Loved the cluttered image at the poem's beginning, too.
"final place of rest/and unrest" - that bit really got me!
so thought-provoking. It's fabulous.
