Our Colorful Universe

Synesthesia Disorder- is a neurological condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway (for example, hearing) leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway (such as vision). Simply put, when one sense is activated, another unrelated sense is activated at the same time.

In my case, I see music notes, numbers, and letters as colors.

Whilst in the midst of a closing zoo,

A peacock came to my rescue,

As bold as any ocean and as lively as a jungle,

Gracing my hand with its feathered snuggle,

It turned away and within its eyes,

I saw a music note as blue as the skies,

Its tail transformed into a majestic symphony,

Unravelling my latest, but not last, epiphany,

The notes, the numbers, the letters,

They all have their simplified patterns,

Just as the routines in our lives exist,

Their patterns have a blindingly true uniqueness,

Our lives are raging colors that flow alongside and all around us,

We can paint our futures with words like forgiveness or gracious,

We can take advantage of new perspectives to believe in things we don’t quite understand,

And we can do this everywhere at anytime, hand in hand.
