On a gentle slope before the valley, we stopped to rest a while

There is a spot for you and I on a gentle slope

Before we reach the valley

Where we can stop, hand in hand

Beneath the boughs of spring

*

Here we can sit and breathe in

The scent of that playful maiden

For she was here not too long ago

And left a skirt of blossoms

*

We can lie and wait a while

On this carpet soft with dew

And you and I can trace that warming wind

Blowing from the south.

*

There! I see the long eared rabbit

Bounding ahead of the sun

But ah, you spy the hunting hound

Racing close behind.

*

And we will track their progress north

Into the valley, you and I

Towards that ragged grey blue line

That warns of rocks and mountains.

*

But still there is time to fall

And swirl laughing into the sky

Where we can play and chase each other

Eternally from east to west

*

Before drifting back hand in hand

To a gentle slope before the valley

For a skirt of blossoms left behind

On a scented spot soft with dew

*

Just you

And I.

*

*

*

Thank you for lingering

From my slumber I arise Drinking dew from blades of grass Blinking drops off from my eyes Spring's come here at last * Gentle winds caress my ears Giving my soft kisses With winter gone, I no longer fear Of Jack Frost's bites near misses * Upon the slope the garden's full A child of nature's domain The mother's shaped the land From her hills and valleys to her plains * Upon there I see grizzly bears Eating moths from out the rocks Their gluttonous feast of powerd wings Begins and never stops * The rabbits scan the scene Hopping out of their dens to eat Upon hearing the wolves breathe They take up quickly to their feet * From Nature's Bounty To Nature's Harvest Nature in Spring Has come in full earnest
