No Goodbye Regrets
It’s how it should be

We are ships passing in the night,
With only a few joining the fleet for the long haul,
The rest bump against the bow,
And disappear over the horizon when destiny calls.
**
Those fleeting moments can change a lifetime,
Or they can destroy on a torturous whim,
Some will help you fly sky high,
And others would prefer you sink than swim.
**
Don’t watch them sail away,
They’ve done what they came to do,
No goodbye regrets,
Spend your energy on those special few.
**
Hold tight to the anchors that stay a lifetime,
Let the breeze blow the naysayers to their doom,
Gladden your heart that they left your waters,
And sail through the future in which you bloom.
**
Scrub the decks of torment and sorrow,
Race the waves as they come to meet you,
Surf the crests as you deserve to do,
Chase your happiness, swim away in the blue.
**
The world is your oyster,
Some rub you wrong like a grain of sand,
But you’ll stand tall in the face of adversity,
And thank your fleet when they lend a helping hand.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Sage advice, and wisdom one can always use. Well done!
Say by day a little closer to sailing those seas of the Outback. Have you figured out a dish or whatever else will work for your internet connection yet?
Some people are just so jealous! Instead of working themselves up, they prefer to push people down. Loved your poem!
