A Cinematic Poem

Cinematic Poem - by Sofie Weber

Some days are full of tears and sadness,

though many days joyful, deeming blesses.

Alike music airing the silence of Angel wings,

a soulful whispering of messages from love.

They sing to my heart like beautiful flowers,

forever tended by the never-fading light,

To plumb the suffering in our unforgetting hearts,

a gift of kindness, albeit the greatest endangered thing.

Some days I’m the ashes, but more often the phoenix,

a compassionate soul arising with a cheerful, yet a worn heart.

Still a child gently placing fallen baby birds back into their nests,

never letting go of love, quite the opposite, to love, again and again.

And I’d wish for the world upon so many stars,

little angels bringing softness in our loneliness.

Reflecting ourselves, our joys and heartsore,

to mirror our greatest gift, our infinite depths of love.

Seven billion heartbeats are pounding at this very moment,

but how, tell me how, can it then be so silent?

My eyes fill with tears, tears of joy, or something severe,

an endless cry, humanity, or Gaia, which one did I miss?

Is it of guilt or a sorrowful melancholy,

for forgetting Gaia’s heart we once loved so insane?

Long long ago, an eternity of lifetimes ago,

now nothing remains but a longing for her peace that no longer is.

I know, nature always survives all adversities,

supporting our weaknesses, never falling asleep.

If only we could accept that we are also her children,

while she is finding new ways to nourish our souls.

I gather it can be hard to forgive others sometimes

before we have learned to love and forgive ourselves.

Or absolve our spirits of guilt and remorseful thoughts,

even if it is for experiences we didn’t control.

We can be so hard on ourselves, giving love generously,

yet our frail selves unsure, unworthy, loving ourselves not enough.

We have the privilege to know our foible so well from the inside,

does this not make our generosity of spirit all the more wondrous?

We can feel profound empathy, achieve beautiful thoughts and dreams,

love unconditionally, yet still fall hard and disappoint ourselves.

If we’d only learn to do better, in this love and acceptance of others,

could we not strive for harmony rather than strive for perfection?

I believe God only grants us the lessons on our path we can bear,

placing us to create a rich tapestry of boon and bane for each other.

Even our most troubled souls are just an image of our own flaws and fears,

being perfect as we are, in God’s eyes, in the end, we are all one.

Love requires only an opening of the heart, of the eyes, of our spirits,

to the beauty around us, within us, and within those in our lives.

If we keep love awake in our hearts, not forget in this chaos or stresses of life,

we could once again embrace the world with child-like wonder.

So, I wish we may always have an Angel by our sides,

to remind us of love and to take us to beautiful places.

Delicately when the stars and the moonlight shimmer

where our tears reflect our joys and sorrows.

Let this be my nightwish for even a moment in time,

to hearten our spirits as sure as the sun rays

will disclose a rainbow from the white mingling maze,

to point the way to our heart, our deep love and dreams.
