A Poem About Nevers

Never Will I Ever

some things last

Somethings are forever

and there's always a ghost from the past

Never will I ever

having already been there before

Not knowing a together

with one foot always out the door

Never will I ever

be a trusting soul

Somethings are forever

lasting past when we get old

Never will I ever

no reason to give up

Inside there's no surrender

outside many doors shut

Never will I ever

forget so many faces

Memories that I treasure

with one face I see in many places

Never will I ever

feel good about this life

Some things as easy as the float of a feather

and others filled with great strife

Never will I ever

be at peace my old friend

Anxiously the world I'll weather

just waiting for my end
