Never Forget...

Never forget...for you will be reminded in those moments that occur in a fleeting way like a leaf passing on the breeze...those moments you unknowingly create where a memory reminds you...where a thought can keep you...where your heart will hold you...those moments where your eyes fill up with tears for no real reason welling up and betraying you crumbling your facade like you were still living in the tragedy...those moments where your heart stops beating not sure if it can possibly continue or perhaps pounding in your chest changing its pace like a race is about to begin...those moments where a picture, a word, an icon will catch your breath in your throat and cause the sadness to roll in like the waves of an ocean before a storm...those moments where you are lost and beside yourself with the remembrance of grief and fear... those moments where for a fleeting second you aren't sure if that fear is founded... those moments where you question their reality because this could never truly happen...but they do those moments happen often, even now, 1 years after the day, a day that will live on in you forever...a day where you were tested...a day where your strength can't fail...a day to be remembered, never forgotten for the lives that were taken...for the nation that was tested...for those moments we will endure...live in those moments...remember why they are...remember how they came to be...draw your strength from those moments never allowing the fear to settle in...never forget...not the fear...not the grief...not the courage...not the bravery. Never forget the way a nation came together showing strength in solidarity...never forget how we rose above and declared that we will never again be shaken at our core...never again be a victim...never again. We will fight...we will honor...we will remember. Never forget. Always Remember. Those moments are your reminder...a gentle tug at your heart...a test of your will. Always remember.
