Your 'Did you have lunch?'

Your, 'Don't wear that dress'

Your 'Who is coming with you?'

Your 'Don't be out too late'

Your 'Who is he and why are you talking to him so much?'

Your 'You deserve better than him'

Your 'Do you need some money?'

Your 'Try to cut down on your expenses'

To most of which I replied, "Mom, you don't understand"

As it felt overbearing and sometimes irritating too.

It all made sense,

When the tables turned,

And I got someone in my life

Who said, "Mom, you don't understand"
