I see the moon over your shoulder's horizon
Just inches away from my turquoise eyes
With placid constellations rising
As I'm beckoned by the nebulous skies,
I wrap my legs around you
And massage your back with my hand
You've done so much to keep me warm
I'll warm you too, my man
***
The breeze slips playfully between our arms
Like a welcoming ombré from summer to fall
Cooling down our emotional burns
From humidity's sticky drawl,
The ink on your shoulder stands out to me
Dragons protecting a soul
Like the clouds rising mighty above us
To swallow the half-moon whole
***
The leaves begin to shudder and drift
Like scared little bats to the ground
As I watch in awe and my spirits lift
On our tennis court campground,
Sprinklers turn on and the lights go out
As the temperature sinks down low,
But our blanket cocoon keeps me warm
In serenity's moonglow
