Mental Concepts: Where Do They Get This Stuff?

I often wonder what gives people these concepts that they have in their minds. I mean, we all have beliefs and all but sometimes, people just have no clarity in what they think. We all know the sky is blue but that’s not what I mean. Think before you speak is something I really wish people would do instead of blurting out the first thing that comes to mind, but of course, we all know that won’t happen.

In the world today, there is so much chaos and drama. Some of the things that happen are just unnecessary. I think to myself, whenever a situation pops up on the news, are u serious right now? Word become thoughts, thought become actions. People say and do the craziest things. I bet you wonder where I’m going with this. I’ll tell you.

Race. We often feel that race is a factor for everything. I really wish that people would stop thinking that. Things happen because things happen. Its not attached to race or male or female. It’s the person themselves that is the reason why things happen. The mental concept of a person is why they do what they do, not the color of their skin.

Beliefs. I can’t tell you what to believe, force my beliefs on you, vice versa. That’s the problem though. Everybody wants to be right and nobody wants to be wrong. Honesty is the best policy, but truth be told if we say what we are really thinking, prison wouldn’t have enough beds, but some things are truly better left unsaid and some thoughts should be kept to yourself.

Life. Life is what you make of it. You have to start at the bottom to get to the top. People need to realize that they were once on the bottom at one point so don’t look down on the person at the bottom. Some people believe that certain jobs are beneath them or that they are too good to do certain jobs. Well news flash: you never know when you will be asked to do that job so be prepared. I wrote a poem for this called You Must Have Forgot.

You Must Have Forgot

Get serious my friend, you ain't always been on top

You started at the bottom, but you must have forgot

You got the big head, you have lost sight

Of what you went through, it took time for your dark darks to turn bright

The devil was busy; still is today

You ain't always been saved, but you sure act that way

Keep it real, you started at the bottom and rose to the top

You ain't always had it all, you simply forgot

The poem speaks volumes. Some people forget where they come from and they always try to act like they have never had a bad experience one single day in their lives. If that were true, the world would be perfect, but we all know its not. But back to the crazy thoughts.

Back on race. I feel some type of way about certain things. I have had so many situations come up about race. For example, I had someone tell me if they see a certain race person, they are gonna assault the person because they don’t like drama. Dumbest thing I ever heard. I told the person I was talking to that drama isn’t race related and the person she was talking to is clearly wired wrong. Since when is drama race related? If a certain person of one color gets mad at a certain person of another color, that doesn’t mean the complete race of both people are bad. These crazy concepts were the motivation for the next poem and the end of my story. The poem is called mental concepts.

Mental Concepts

People have the craziest ideas in their minds

When they are challenged, their anger is an explosion of rage that goes off like land mines

Are the concepts behind these thoughts making any sense?

Or are they a lack of intelligence, the nature of these thoughts are dense

Density means no one can change your mindset

This is something that you need to check

If a person is for you, they won’t be against you

Use your common sense, stop being their fool

We all make mistakes, but there comes a point in life when we begin to mature

We think about the mistakes, we decide and sometimes we still are not sure

Change is different, scary at first

Look back at the past, don’t dwell, go back, because if you do, it could be worse

What could have been, what should have been, but right now is what its gonna be

At a crossroads, like a stop light, will you yield or limit your speed

A GPS says you have arrived at your destination

But have you arrived or are you still doing recalculations?

This concludes my story.
