May day
a poem to commemorate the International Workers Day
Mayday bin Sos al Rupturi
We stand together
Today is all, to a degree,
About the weather,
It's raining dogs, it's raining cats
Someplace or other
We won but still we lost our bets
My worker brother,
So when AI replaces us
As has been written,
I beg you, brethren, do not cuss,
Forget the strive forget the fuss,
And, changing minus into plus,
Adopt a kitten.

A garden tail
The night was dark and full of deer. They ate azaleas, oh dear, tomatoes, hostas, chives and thyme; then they were running out of time and all that's left was marigolds and so they shat all over folds of an already brown tarp. Yes, deer are evil, mean and sharp, but they were chased away by crows that flew in perfect even rows and defecated one by one until their shit became the sun. The day is young and full of hope - we'll buy a rifle and a scope and google venison and steaks; for now, though, it's spades and rakes and rhododendrons in the mud. I warn you, deer: I'm out for blood.

I AM
This is not who I thought I would be. Before my family was captured and forced into slavery, I had aspirations of becoming a wealthy business owner or possibly a scholar and philosopher. Becoming a warrior was the furthest thing from my mind. Unfortunately, our Roman conquerors had other plans.
