as god sought shelter from a world of hate,

the priest led her to the collection plate.

“Give what you seek and you shall find”

was the message they had inscribed

tears fell quickly from her eyes

as she now fully realised

even in here, love had died

this was her world she had incarnated to see

to witness her creation’s evolution with their free

-will

.

how far they had all descended

from the frequency she had intended

was it too late to turn this around?

poisoned hearts of evil now everywhere to be found

men of bitterness and hate

men of jealousy and rape

using fear to control the mind

determined to keep her womankind

-oppressed

.

all the men were fully infected

no one on earth was left unaffected

and with women so abused and disempowered

no child could be conceived without being soured

so she created a baby within her womb

drawing upon the energies of the new moon

a boy conceived of purest love

infused with the frequency of the heavens above

he would grow up to lead them all

for centuries after his inevitable fall

-and murder

.

she placed a coin onto the plate of gold

as the priest grinned widely with greed so bold

hand to belly and drawing deep breath

she exhaled a storm from her chest

mary walked in it’s eye all the way home

protecting her and jesus from energies of harm

she calmly planned tonight’s meal

where it was finally time to reveal

her true identity which had been concealed

-from joseph

This is such an original take on one of the most famous stories ever told Kayleigh! I like the careful message here about how women were treated, and "he would grow up to lead them all for centuries after his inevitable fall" is a fantastic line.

  • "she exhaled a storm from her chest". Gosh this line hit me so hard and I felt it so deeply in my bones! Your poem was so poignant and emotional!

  • This was a beautiful take on this story! Well done Kayleigh!

I wasn't planning on crying tonight, but now I can't stop. This is so sad and beautiful. The last verse is truly heart-rendering ❤️‍🩹. Is this in honor of Easter?
