Love Is Not Easy

But with the right person it can be worth it

Your scent sails across the westerly winds,

Bringing a smile to her sweet glorious face,

Hard work, male desire, nature’s essence,

Spellbind her within paper and lace.

***

She waits with bated breath,

Knowing you are hers and hers alone,

Date night, an edge of excitement,

Ending in the most precious erotic zone.

***

Two people destined to meet,

Hearts beating in perfect tune,

Love at first sight, maybe,

Star struck under the light of a blue moon.

***

Ecstasy flows within her veins,

Fingertips breathing in the scent of your skin,

A golden touch, a sensitive brush of her hair,

Goosebumps raised from neck to shin.

***

Welcoming sensuality like never before known,

Breathing her very essence deep within your adoration,

Savouring, learning her deepest secrets,

As every inch is given freely for your exploration.

***

Sunlight dances through the strands of her hair,

Plump pink lips pouting in sheer perfection,

A come hither glance is thrown your way,

Her needs and wishes cast in your direction.

***

Bathing in your attention,

Her glorious nakedness with goddess ability,

She moans in pleasure with every passing grace,

As she crests the waves into peaceful tranquility.

***

Her eyes filled with desire as they lock onto yours,

A graceful smile winds across her lips,

She rolls into the crest of your strong arms,

Purring prettily into sleep she slips.

***

You watch in wonder of this stunning princess,

One with whom you traverse the years to come,

Your love grows on a daily basis,

As your pain for the past has finally succumb.

***

You lay there and follow your pending dreams,

As they wander your mind, open to all possibilities,

Love has changed you from the inside out,

Freeing you from the trauma and past hostilities.

***

You owe it all to the woman as she lays by your side,

And she owes you for her recent dive into paradise,

You both need to protect the gift you’ve been blessed with,

And be prepared to each battle wills and painful sacrifice.

***

Love doesn’t come easy,

But can extend to perfection,

If coaxed and drawn out with infinite patience,

Attention to detail and loads of affection.

***

Leave tomorrow in the future to take care of itself,

As you both muster the courage to traverse through today,

Extend your morals to include passion and loyalty,

And you’ll find your love’s cost is easy to pay.

***

Never lay your head down on the back of an argument,

Wisdom holds out for those who talk it out,

Allow love to gentle your anger,

And ensure you stay calm, never abuse and shout.

***

The effort you both expend will come back tenfold,

The years will vanish in the blink of an eye,

But the joy you’ll both experience with a little hard work,

Will see that your love excels, never to die.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Powerful, sensual, romantic. Bloody well done, my friend

  • Okay, that's the second cold shower I've had to take tonight! Could the two of you just take it a little easy? My 63 year old heart can't take much more of this, lol! Beautifully & sensually written (you were makin' my head swim). The ending stanzas worthy of Proverbs, the beginning worthy of Song of Solomon, filled to the brim with wisdom's love.

  • Woooh I knew that I was going to have a good read from the first sentence ❤️😉✨(Your scent sails across the westerly winds) Nice piece 📝💯

  • But some people are such cowards! Full of empty promises and shit! Sorry my friend, I'm still very bitter. But your poem was very beautiful!

That was hot, emotional, honest, and had many a crests too. It is hard to love, especially when it comes to moving past trauma. Yet caring about other people, about someone else, just as much as Yourself, is what love is all about. Sure, there may be invisible scars on the heart to match any visible scars on the surface, but the kisses from a special someone can easily smooth the pain away with no issue, as if removing the proverbial and even literal scar tissue.
