Liquid

a poem

I was in a golden room. The room was thinking of you

before I even knew about you.

All old dull sorrows vanished as you appeared-

dripping in liquid gold

like a sea creature that's just come to life to save the world

- a miracle.

I had four dreams in a row

Four dreams in a row, four dreams in a row

that I hold you tight and there are no tears

I try to speak and my voice is different

I try to smile but I am already smiling

I know it was YOU -

YOU turned the room into gold.

This is the part where everyone is happy all the time

and me-- liquid of pain splashing through me

What if I never see you again?

I make you pancakes, I take you for a ride, I talk to you as if you’re

really HERE.
