Getting over someone is hard. It’s not easy letting someone in
Your guard is up, but like a car at the dealership, they take you for a spin
They crash on the breaks and come to a stop, the car flops and your tire pops
The paint chips and the car drips missing your lips they run down your cheeks
They leave you stranded, you’ve just been abandoned
You think it’s the end, but it's not. A tire can be replaced, the paint can be fixed
Mixed feelings make you uneasy your engine revs to keep people away, one person will sway to your door turn on the keys, your heart is at ease
So you go for a ride, and this time they stay by your side.
