Instinct misleads you. At least, that's what rational people like us tend to surmise. No one likes to take risks based on mere gut feelings.

However, I have come to regret not trusting my instinct - doing so has led to regret at times. But there is another question - how do we strike a balance between rational decision making and following one's intuition?

The first shout out will go to writers, who should always trust it when they write. Writing does rely heavily on following the gut to determine topics that will resonate with readers. Finally, don't be clouded by emotion - balance following instinct with some rational thought and decision making.

Instinct is like animal tracks, and following it may bring us to places we need to get to, or even get us out of trouble. Enjoy these haikus. They share what one must do to follow one's instinct in a balanced way.Do share what you've found out in the comments!

Follow creature trails

Marks ominous and unclear

Tracks reach destiny

Follow creature trials

Scale the tracks with a blindfold

Touch the clear vast sky

Trace the unclear marks

Third eye will open

Heart must be still.
