In Love We Take Chances

Actions and words cut deeper than a knife

Clawing and clamoring through this life

Searching for a meaning of all the strife

Pain and misery all he has known

Occasionally, a bone, he was thrown

Giving his everything, he was prone

Only to find himself once again, alone

The meaning of life is something pondered

Staring to the heavens a man embittered

Asking questions that will never be answered

A love found brings forth a new light

Letting go of the fear so that he might

Keep them at bay and not lose sight

His doubts a battle he must always fight

Her face lights a fire in his very soul

Her kisses take away all his control

Her eyes his very heart they stole

Will she finally lead him to a happy place?

Will she be patient, as he finds his pace?

Will she be the finish line for this eternal race?

Will she give him the love he searches to embrace?
