I woke up this morning,
Though I didn't want to talk,
You asked me how I was,
I replied,
"I'm fine."
I kissed you,
And I smiled as I dressed,
You cracked a funny joke,
And I pretended to laugh.
I remained silent for an hour,
And you asked me what was wrong;
I replied,
"It's nothing,"
You told me it was ok,
Then you were gone.
So, sitting here alone,
My hidden tears fall;
Tears I'm ashamed to show,
Embarrassed into silence,
Afraid to make that call.
When you come back,
You smile,
Then, ask how I am again;
Once more, I say,
"It's nothing,"
You nod and walk away.
So, here I go again,
Sitting in silence,
Screaming inside,
Feeling as though, my feelings I must hide.
You come back with a cup of tea,
I thank you,
Tea relieves my anxiety.
I take a deep breath,
Followed by a comforting sip;
I love you,
But there is something I must say.
Please understand;
When I say, "It's nothing,"
Don't just walk away;
Because when I say, "It's nothing,"
I really mean "It's something,"
I just don't know what to say.

Beautiful. “It’s Fine” is definitely code for not fine at all!
Amazing 🤩🤩 welldone excellent story
Ct - Certainly a champion of mixed messages, then. You had me at not being available for dating. Test you hubby on my 'Hit me Again' story; would you scream in the bleachers for him; as our Kristen did for hers. We tend to giggle at one another; a very good thing! j.in.l.a.
