It’s Not About the Money
A Poem for the Creators
I often sit and ponder
What’s in a dollar
Not what is it made of
But what it makes for us
Often it’s very little
And it’s only getting smaller
We create and create
But we only generate more wealth for the wealthy
The whole situation is rather unhealthy
We get paid less than a penny for our efforts
Yet we struggle on
Because it’s not about the money
It’s about sending a message
A word
We want to be heard
