Graduating college later

than I anticipated is a blessing

*

And I never thought I'd say something

so ridiculously counterintuitive

*

I spoke with my colleagues

about what our career plans are

after we all get our most

expensive piece of paper

*

They all said the same thing

"I really don't know."

"I haven't thought about it."

"I hope something good."

*

Then they asked me

and I hit them with my

5, 10, and 20 year plans

*

They all make fun of me

because they know I'm older

Although they don't know

by how much

*

I laugh with them knowing

at least I know what I want
