The future of my ancestry
I am Black History. The spirit living in man. Every bone in my body is the beginning of man.
I am Black History. I come from kings and queens who built empires out of ashes and fire.
I am Black History. My ancestors came to this country in chains and every ounce of their past pain paved the way for my future gain.
I am Black History. A cold hard fact who brings truth to light and always leading the fight.
I am Black History. A duality of beauty and beast. I fought wars of flames, guns and bullets with peace.
I am Black History. I make a strong fist with a mighty hand. I make impacts whether I sit down or take a stand.
I am Black History. When I'm up to my nose in mud I remember I am blessed with royal blood.
I am Black History. Though the world has shrouded my history in mystery I will still have the victory.
I am Black History. Some think my legacy is devil-sent, but its Heaven sent clothed in melanin.
I am Black History. No matter how hard life may seem, I'm still a testament to my ancestor's dreams.

This is excellent! It resonated with me so much! I'm descended from stolen Africans who wound up on a SC rice plantation. One of them was Paris O'Ree, who at 15, ran away, joined the British, and gained his passage to Canada. Without that act of bravery, I wouldn't be here today to read your poem. The sad thing is none of this was ever taught to me. I had to figure it out for myself. Congratulations on your well-deserved top story. You are indeed Black History and I'm sure your ancestors are proud.
