From The Grave

A poem in her defense.

Your mother just turned over again

In her grave when she heard

The lies they said...

If I told you they are lying

Would you believe me?

Or are you still afraid of what everyone is thinking?

Your mother was very brave...

"Time heals all wounds"

She loved to say

But time is what she didn't have

To correct the mistakes

Your father purposely made.

Even now, he frantically

Refuses to correct them still

With all this time that's left to kill.

For weeks he's tried relentlessly

And asked 'the best' to silence me...

Turns out, 'this one' they cannot kill...

To 'divide and conquer'

Has been their major tactic

But now their major blunder.

They cry 'retreat!'

But refuse to surrender

Their lot decreed-

'Return to sender!'

There are things your mother said

Truths of crimes against her made

Covered cleverly the 'church way'.

With all forgetting that one day

The truth will find it's way

To the pulpit, on any given Sunday.
