Stories of the forest

Whispered softly, through the trees

Crossing ore' the meadows

Wingless dreams, in the breeze

Secrets carved, left in tree bark

Skipping, of a stone

Coins wished on after dark

Into deep wells, unknown

The shadows remember

What the wildlife keeps safe

Hidden after December

Until the forest awakes

Telling tales of its slumber

Catching up on the news

Things stirring down under

Where the quietness grew

Waiting for the springtime

When the snow and ice thaw

Like a vine, learning to climb

Creating wonder and awe

Oh, the secrets concealed there

Some hidden, right in plain sight

Pull up a lawn chair

Be sure to buckle up tight

Natures not for the faint hearted

Be prepared for the hype

When their secrets are imparted

You're in for the time of your life
