Exile in the Homeland

Let my people go

Exile in the Homeland looks like

Shifting, moving, adapting

Hiding, submitting, and rebelling

No comfort, no stability as familiarity

Is snatched and shredded before my sleepy eyes

Serpents slink in shadows slyly

Submissive servants sacrifice their souls

Deception and lies sit upon the throne

Nephesh thirst, suffer, and perish

In the wasteland promised to those

Ancient bygones of the broken covenants

Longing for their enslaved days

Hard work, no pay, practicing the old ways

Under the rule of a thousand Babylons

The greatest kings meet their fall

The straight and narrow is the most difficult

Path to walk of all.
