Exchanging Of The Guards

Where They Mingle

Yesterday captured, through another ones eyes

Hope comes to life, and struggles go to die

Another presented, imagination takes flight

Confidence is hidden, in shadows of the night

Daylight reveals secrets, the darkness once kept

Unfolding a plan, while the sleepy world slept

Hiding away, just behind the closed doors

With the sun rising high, it can't hide anymore

The sounds of the night, singing out their last songs

The birds join the chorus, as the melody plays on

Singing the tales, that the daylights denied

The adventures that keep the two in complete divide

New feelings arise as the sun takes its place

The man in the moon, winks, a smile on his face

The new day gives time for him, to plan out the night

He'll be up and at it again, near midnight

  • Or earlier. The days are getting shorter again. Beautiful poem, stirring the fancies that make me love both the day and the night.
