Everyday Tear

Everyday Tear
February 6th, 2010
What’s lost isn’t always gone.
What’s found isn’t always there.
But what you can depend upon
Is I’ll always care.
I’ll always love and cherish,
You can be sure of that.
What you don’t know, however,
Is this simple fact.
I know more than you
Give me credit for.
I can hug you tighter
Than a wave on the longest shore.
Nightmares never sleep and
This is one we won’t wake from.
But we won’t only weep
For sorrow can come undone.
We can leave it all behind.
Drag with us only what matters.
Keep those thoughts in our heads,
That keep us from crying out quiet.
For crying out loud
Is not our style.
And crying out loud
Is for once in a while.
Yet our everyday tear
Is silent, quiet.
Our everyday tear is
A feather in the wind.
Yes my dear, come close
And you shall see
The invisible everyday tear
Shed by you and me.
