Last year's glory
Hong Kong's coastal vines
Defying winter's harshness
green as ever they shine
But my eyes, weary
have lost their luster
As June twilight's golden glow
whispers gently to stir
~~
Have you ever sensed
that bygone year
Caught the fragrance of kapok
in Hong Kong's air?
Spinning on the mast
seven hues ignite
The emerald sea
a sail's silhouette in flight
~~
Dreams of many souls
lost in ocean's tide
Unnoticed, like whispers carried
by the sea's wide
But within my heart
the sea's secrets reside
A world unseen
where depths and wonders hide
~~
The morning glory's tenacity
a lesson profound
To weather storms, yet
in verdant beauty be crowned
As summer bites
my spirit yearns to find
The resilience of those vines
a faith enshrined
~~
Oh, let the winds of change
caress my face
Awaken dormant senses
grant me solace and grace
For in Hong Kong's embrace
a story unfolds
Of dreams untold
and mysteries yet to behold
~~
And though my eyes may fade
the memories abide
Of kapok's fragrance
the ocean's timeless pride
In the green sea's expanse
where dreams collide
The waves know my heart
where solace does reside
