Standing still on sand

Feel the earth meeting my skin

Completes and soothes me

*

As the tide comes in

The water covers my toes

Refreshing my soul

*

As the wind approaches

Blowing gently through my hair

Invigorates me

*

Crouching over the wood

Piled high like a funeral pyre

Fire warming my heart

*

A very creative piece that encompasses all the elements. Well done. I see this has quickly moved into vocal shallow cuts. Glad it got the attention it deserves.

  • Beautiful expression of a day at the beach. Sorry I missed this one before.

  • This is great writing, as always, Paul. I love how the separate haikus blend together to tell a story. Wonderful job, my friend!

Very well done, Paul. You say so much with so few words.

I love the final haiku with the funeral pyre analogy. It seems so apt, for the dwindling end of the day at the beach, and the meditative nature of a fire. I definitely was transported to the beach today with this quadri-haiku!

Yessss!! You captured the simple joy of just 'being' at the beach. I could feel it all. Really well done imagery :)
