Dirty homeless people

Ignored by the sheeple

Standing on their steeple

Chasing the dirt away

Clearing the nasty strays

Keeping the streets clean

Making the shiney gleam

Stopping them making a scene

Dirty homeless wasters

Wallowing like lessers

At my wife's home church a new pastor was being introduced to the congregation one particular Sunday morning. People were full of anticipation to hear his first sermon & get to know him. One their way in, most simply ignored the homeless man sitting on the front steps. Those who did see him turned away. The lay leader conducted the first portion of the service. Right before the sermon, he spoke of their new pastor by way of introduction, though he had not been seen the entire service. When he concluded, the homeless man entered through the doors at the back of the sanctuary, strode down the lengthy aisle to the pulpit & began the sermon. He preached on Matthew 25, the parable of the sheep & the goats. Rather than take the message to heart, the congregation got rid of him.

Sad but true, it's how they're viewed by the majority. Well written!

I always have to think that "Some people were made homeless and some people choose to be homeless." Yet, I also know that if You're homeless You're going to struggle to find an occupation since jobs want somebody to return to their place of work consistently. So, if they don't have a mailing address, then the homeless people are practically screwed. Even at homeless shelters, there's only a limited amount of space. Thus, a lot of people end up not being able to get away from the harshness that is the world. Some of them are the most dedicated of laborers, but they'll get called as lazy due to not having a stable job/income.
