A short poem about love ❤️

The sun doesn't rise and fall with your arrival and departure

Yet I only see daylight when you're here

And I awaken at the sound of your voice alone

And slumber well from nothing other than you being near

I fear

That the world around me is clouded

That my mind has melted to nothing

It appears

That I live by one imperative

That I exist for one thing

To be here

To be near

To be close...

To you

About the Creator

Katrina Byrd

It comes to me when it wants to speak

And it speaks through me

When it speaks it uses its own voice

Thus far, I haven't regretted my choice

I admire its courage, elocution, and effective speech

So much so that at times

I wish that it was me
