Chasing the Sun

Embrace the new day, release the old

Chasing the Sun

The sun glides quietly between the clouds

Dipping her toes slowly into the horizon

A vibrant hue of pink

Marking her descent

.

Colour blasts the atmosphere

As she radiates with joy

Promising to return upon the morrow

The only thing more constant is death

.

The light of day vanishes

Into the inkiness of night

Dusk kisses the shore

Highlighting waves dancing in the moonlight

.

Stars glitter across the ebony expanse

Reflected in the uncaring sea

Dazzling and intense

In the vastness of the universe

.

Wisps of a breeze caress the rocks

Leaving behind a salty remembrance

A note to say, "I was here"

Only to be bathed into oblivion

.

Upon the dawn

New promises are born

The day ahead full of wonder

And belief in the impossible

.

Stand firmly in the moment

Embrace the peace and beauty

And hold tight to the one truth:

There will always be a tomorrow

.
