Bleeding-Heart Plant
Lamprocapnos spectabilis
Not all plants benefit from light’s embrace,
Some bloom better where darkness takes place.
But I still pondered the purpose of seeking below,
And ventured to affirm what I already know.
And in the depths, I glimpsed my own reflections,
Witnessed the fear of failure’s infection, spreading wide,
Across the tapestry of my multiverse’s lives.
To confirm what I’ve learned, with minimal sway,
I realized my will needed a push to pave the way.
So, for a moment, I considered their claims, and indeed, they did proclaim,
«Have faith in the journey, destiny unfolds.»
But who am I, and who are «they» to know truths yet untold?
Intertwined we are, in different forms we claim,
Diverse in successes, yet fears share the same name.
But it was there I discovered the plant I sought,
A bleeding-heart thriving in shadows, just as I thought,
Its pink petals flourish, an annual spark,
In darkness stark, the bleeding-heart plant left a lasting mark.
**Authors note: Be mindful about where you plant the Lamprocapnos spectabilis as the bleeding heart is toxic to people and pets.**

one of my favorite flowers and often erected a shade so I'd see them during the day. They seem to reflect my "life's habits" as I always seem to do better at night. No matter what time I get out of bed in the morning, my brain likes to awaken well after 11am and stays alert well after 11pm.
