The dark, slithering Apep,

A serpent of ancient lore.

His venomous hiss is kept,

As his curse forevermore.

His coils like fiery chains,

Constrict the sun from the sky.

A force to make gods wane,

And mortals shudder and sigh.

But even in his dark might,

Apep fears the mother's rage.

Her light pierces through the night,

And banishes him to his cage.

So beware, ye who dare

To summon the serpent king.

For his wrath is beyond compare,

And his rule will forever sting.
