When?

And when will our leaders stop

Bragging about their patriotism, inciting

Conflict among nations while making

Decisions influenced by their

Egos. They continue to

Fuel wars with hate. What is the end

Goal when

Hundreds of projectiles target hospitals and homes, killing

Innocent civilians. How can we

Justify torturing children—

Kidnapping parents and forcing

Little boys and girls to

Mature quickly with

No loved one left to hear their cries. We

Occupy a land that we do not own but

Possessed via force of arms. Temporary inhabitants we are on a

Quest to live a happy life. The blood of our ancestors

Running through our veins is what keeps us alive.

Sure, we are different. For instance, some make the sign of

The cross, while others use a string of beads or lift their sacred book

Up to their faces, all in their form of prayer. If we could

View inside the minds of soldiers

We would get a sense of the psychological impact of wars. Let's practice

Xenodochy in times of need for who but man is to be blamed?

Yet most yearn for a time when love prevails and humanity reaches its

Zenith.
