Anarchy
Bloody, horrifying anarchy
Cries of death
Demonic laughter
Empires blazing into ashes
Freedom's an unattainable dream
Godless, lawless, hopeless
Hypocrisy at its finest
Ignorance is a blessing
Judgment day is here
Knowledge can't save us
Liberation's beyond our grasp
Maledictions have come to fruition
No chance for redemption or salvation
Oaths mean nothing
Peace lost its voice
Quite that delineates calamity
Righteous? Or Selfish
Savors don't exist
Tomorrow offers no promises
Unfailing fear
Vengeful anthems
War is imminent
Xennials are recruited
Yell your sorrows

"Malediction" is such a good word 😁
Painfully apt for any & every age. When Jesus pronounced his little apocalypse with wars & rumors of wars, signs in the heavens & portents in the earth--has there ever been an age since the dawn of recorded history that has not fit his descriptions? The question becomes, how do we find hope knowing that not only is this the way the world typically works, when it's been different it hasn't been for long?
This is why men love to fight wars. The sheer ecstasy of pumped adrenaline. I felt that in your poem.
This was just so tragic, intense and devastating! It was poignantly beautiful!
Not a hope of redemption here.
Very good. I agree with Heather - the last few lines really got the message across!
Sharp, poignant, brilliant.
So good!!! And those last two lines. This was quite deep. Really well done :)
