Amidst the green and leafy haze,
Amidst the green and leafy haze,
A scent that lingers, a smoky phase,
Marijuana, a plant of many names,
Its reputation, a subject of debates.
Some claim its healing, a medicine to cure,
Others see it as harmful, a dangerous lure,
Its effects and uses, a matter of law,
A topic that remains, without a clear draw.
Amidst the debates, one thing is true,
Marijuana is a plant that continues to woo,
With its fragrant buds, and its verdant hue,
A curious and complex plant, through and through.
It has sparked the creative minds of many,
And sparked a movement of those who see,
The benefits of this plant that grows so tall,
Yet, still faces scrutiny from many.
As research continues, and laws evolve,
The future of marijuana remains unresolved,
But for those who seek, its calming effects,
It remains a potent plant, that still perplexes.

As someone who has worked on both sides (drug squad and medicinal cannabis regulation) I agree it’s a perplexing plant but still so much untapped potential! Awesome poem!
