A Shakespearean Sonnet

Have you become unraveled by a thing?

So easily distressed by whetted words,

When two can heal as though on feathered wings

And bring elation freely, like a bird.

Some spoken words with haste and anger may

Undoubtedly forever with you burn

Like flames and fire always here to stay

Enclosed within your heart, now growing stern.

And still, two words when spoken can amend

The cuts, the scars, the flames that have since grown,

And rising from those ashes stand two friends

In silence, contemplating what was sown.

Though scars remain forever, they can fade.

Two words; "I'm sorry;" diff'rences are made.
