The Math Test
A humorous, limerick-style poem
I woke up this morning unrested
Upset that today, I’d be tested
Is this all a joke?
Or did I have a stroke?
I’m depressed by the tears manifested.

I walked into the room and sat down
Cuz I knew I’d end up in the pound
That test stares at me
As I count up to three.
And I feel my face morph to a frown.

All these words–are they even real?
My confusion I tried to conceal…
The numbers all mix
And my head’s in a fix.
These Math problems make me want to keel.

Seconds passed and the time then was up.
I guessed on the ones I got stuck.
I handed it in
With an unsightly grin.
I knew I had run out of luck.

By the end of the day I was green.
An unbearable sight to be seen.
That test had me beat
So I flailed in defeat...
What a wonderful day it had been.
