I learned so much from this and feel slightly embarrassed at my ignorance. Thank you so much for writing this.
Love this, and Iβm glad it got some exposure as a top story! Thank you for sharing this
This was a very enlightening article. Thank you so much for sharing! You helped explain some concepts that have always been difficult for me to grasp, and you did it in such a clear and concise manner. I greatly applaud that as I'm incredibly dense when it comes to all these matters :) Not falling in any of these categories, it is sometimes difficult for me to understand them. Though I do take issue with your description of Two Spirit People. Indigenous North America is where the concept originated according to our modern understandings of these things, but I dislike limiting people's gender identity, or really anything so fundamental as that, to their race. Maybe I'm just sensitive, my family survived residential schools here in Canada and I work in Indigenous Relations. So I might be oversensitive about perceived segregation of my people from the rest of the world. So that's a me thing, your explanation was brilliant for it though!
This is a great article! Very informative and uplifting. Happy Pride!
