A White Poppy

For All Those We Have Lost To War

I am not sure what made me write this, It came to me as I was out walking. I have missed Remembrance Sunday but it seems the world is constantly at war. Imagine what could be done if the resources ploughed into destruction were put into building and eradicating hunger and poverty.

The Red Poppy can be seen as justifying bloodshed, the White Poppy is to signify that we should not fight, a symbol of Remembrance and Peace.

Politicians Drink Wine In Safety

Generals Behind Desks Taking Tea

Bankers, Their War Stock Making Money

All Are Smiling, They Find This Funny

This film is a superb story of injustice and I borrowed the title for a line in my poem. If you haven't seen it you must watch it.
