"A Prisoners Hope"
A Poem by Eugene Butler III
©️ Eugene Butler III 2023

In the darkest depths, where shadows dwell,
Where chains of despair hold hearts in a cell,
There lies a flicker, a flame so small,
A whisper of hope, within each soul's call.

Once confined by bars, in a prison's embrace,
Lost in the echoes of a tormented space,
But fear shall not define, nor hinder the way,
For change awaits, like dawn after the gray.

Through shattered dreams and battles fought,
You've known the depths, the pain of being caught,
Yet within your spirit, resilience resides,
A strength unyielding, where hope abides.

Release the shackles of doubt and shame,
Embrace the truth, that you're not the same,
For in your journey, transformation awaits,
A chance to rise above, to rewrite life's slates.

Though scars may linger, etched upon your soul,
They tell a story of strength that makes you whole,
Embrace the warrior within, fearless and true,
Unleash the power of change, let it shine through.

With each step forward, a new chapter begins,
A symphony of redemption, where healing wins,
The path may be winding, uncertain, and tough,
But your spirit's resolve will be more than enough.

Know that you're not alone, as stars light your way,
Communities of support guide you, day by day,
So rise, reclaim your worth, with courage untamed,
And watch as your metamorphosis is proclaimed.

Fear not the change, embrace it with grace,
Unleash the phoenix within, find your rightful place,
For you are resilient, with boundless strength,
A beacon of hope, for all at arm's length.

So let the past be a lesson, not a chain,
Embrace the journey, let healing remain,
Your story, a testament, a testament to might,
Overcoming fear, emerging in radiant light
